Daniel Johns is a vocalist, composer, guitarist, pianist and producer best known as the frontman of Silverchair – one of the most acclaimed and successful bands in Australian music history. He’s the only man to win APRA’s prestigious ‘Songwriter Of The Year’ Award three times.
Silverchair have won more ARIA Awards than any other artist and they have enjoyed more #1 albums than any other Australian band. Between 1994 and present day, Silverchair achieved phenomenal global success accumulating album sales in excess of six million across Frogstomp, Freak Show, Diorama, Neon Ballroom, and Young Modern. Their most recent album Young Modern also became the fastest selling of their extraordinary career.
In May 2015, Daniel finally released one of the most anticipated debuts in Australian music … TALK. Highly praised on release and reaching #2 on the ARIA charts, TALK embraced a new soulful aesthetic for this artistic shapeshifter. The album was launched with two sold out shows at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Vivid Festival where Daniel was hailed as one of the most exciting artists in the country.
