SLUMBERJACK Announce AUS 'SARAWAK' EP Tour
Following the release of their emotionally-rich, raw collaboration, 'Daggers' with Machine Age, today SLUMBERJACK announce the duo’s biggest headline tour to date, set for March 2019. The news is paired with the announcement of their forthcoming EP SARAWAK, due to be released early next year via OneLove.
Also today, SLUMBERJACK and Machine Age reveal a captivating music video for ‘Daggers’ which is a metamorphosis of the live shows of each act blending the organic instrumentation of Machine Age with the live electronic world that is SLUMBERJACK.
'Daggers’ is the first taste from SLUMBERJACK’s upcoming SARAWAK EP which was conceived and produced when the duo sought a respite from the relentless touring cycle they had found themselves in and retreated to the natural beauty of Morgan’s homeland of Sarawak in Borneo, Malaysia.
"There’s been a lot of touring in the last year, all over the globe, and it’s been unbelievably incredible, but it’s left us feeling digitally isolated and has strangled creativity, " says Fletcher. "This cycle desperately needed to be broken, so we decided to travel… again. But this was different – we went somewhere that was very familiar to Morgan and extremely foreign to me. Somewhere we could spend time living fully in the present, experiencing the natural beauty of the rainforest and sampling the unique sounds of the jungles, caves and traditional instruments we came across."
The duo captured their experience in Sawarak and have released the first in a series of episodes documenting their journey.
In 2017 SLUMBERJACK released the #1 iTunes charting Fracture EP which resulted in high rotation singles ‘Fracture’ ft. Vera Blue and ‘Afraid, Unafraid’ ft. Sydnee Carter and a sold-out national tour. Over the past two years the duo have taken their live show on a national run with Falls Festival and Groovin’ the Moo, a third year straight at Splendour in the Grass, as well as Big Pineapple and Touch Bass festivals. In the US they supported TroyBoi and Ekali on their respective US tours, played EDC Las Vegas, and more. In addition to the upcoming national tour they have also been announced on the line up for Mountain Sounds Festival in February 2019.
