Spiderbait Announced On HUGE Spring Loaded Festival Lineup
It’s becoming a pretty common sight: all the finest artists who cut their teeth in the fertile 90s Australian alternative rock scene, all packaged together in one massive gig line-up, serving as the ultimate nostalgia trip for music lovers who were there back in the day.
They also provide an opportunity for those who missed out on the great live scene of that decade to catch so many of the artists that made it such an important time in our nation’s musical history.
Spring Loaded is the latest of these shows, which will see a whole heap of incredible talent descend upon Sandstone Point, a small locality near Bribie Island, roughly an hour north of Brisbane.
It’s a veritable embarrassment of riches for anyone who likes the guitar driven 90s alt-rock sound that Australian bands did so well, with eight of the absolute finest bands of the era all dropping by to play in the lovely coastal setting.
Here’s the full line up:
Spiderbait, Something For Kate, Mark Seymour & the Undertow, Jebediah, Frenzal Rhomb, Custard, Tumbleweed, Screamfeeder
This one-off show comes on the back of hugely popular events like Hotter Than Hell, Scene & Heard, Under The Southern Stars and the 90s focused iterations of A Day On The Green, which have shown that there is still a huge appetite for live music among the people who lived it in the 90s.
And while all of these bands have been slogging it out for well over two decades, they are all still in fine form.
With a line up this strong, the only issue is how you’re going to last the distance with so many great bands playing end-to-end.
The event takes place at the Sandstone Point Hotel on Saturday 22 June from 1.30pm. Tickets are on sale from Monday 4 March.
