GOOD BOY Return With New Single 'Ethereal Whooshing'
Good Boy today return with their new single ‘Ethereal Whooshing’, which premiered on triple j’s Home & Hosed last night. Described by Declan Byrne as “Good Boy at their best”, the new track comes as a welcomed taste of Good Boy goodness, as well as a teaser of the band’s forthcoming debut album due out early 2020.
Following the narrative of political criticism that solidifies Good Boy’s songwriting, frontman Rian King explains “’Ethereal Whooshing’ is just another ‘classic Good Boy track’ in which that Poots fella blatantly rambles about the ‘Australian’ government’s (and its employees’) illusions, lies and deceit, and the point at which a person realises what they believe may be a complete fucking farce.”
The single was produced by Tim Morrissey, mixed by Aidan Hogg and mastered by Mikey Young.
This year, Good Boy stepped out on their national ‘CRF’ tour in April, and now return with the delicate and emotive ‘Ethereal Whooshing’ – a break from the introduction of trumpet and trombone, and instead a nod to early releases with sombre punk-driven guitar and bass lines, and a delicate piano lead. The new track comes as the next teaser from the band’s forthcoming debut album due out early 2020.
