One of Australia's finest supergroups is back, this time honouring the classic Eagles' album 'Hotel California.
The Australian Rock Collective (ARC) – featuring Kram (Spiderbait), Darren Middleton (Powderfinger), Mark Wilson (Jet) and Davey Lane (You Am I) – who have covered the likes of The Beatles, Neil Young, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin during past succesful annual national Australian tours, turn their attention to one of the finest albums of the 20th century.
Released in December 1976, 'Hotel California' was the fifth studio album by the American rockers, the band's first record with guitarist Joe Walsh (who remains with the band to this day), who had replaced founding member Bernie Leadon, and the last to feature founding bassist/ vocalist Randy Meisner (who died in 2023).
Produced by Bill Szymczyk (who also worked with B.B. King, REO Speedwagon and The Who during the '70s-'80s) 'Hotel California' collected two awards at the 1978 Grammy Awards including Record Of The Year for the title track. It also features 'Life In The Fast Lane' and 'New Kid In Town'.
ARC's Hotel California tour – that will visit Northern Rivers, Brisbane, Newcastle, Wollongong, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth in June – will see the group perform the album in concert alongside a second set of Eagles' other hits.
