Four weeks out from the first Ivy and and Big Apples tour date, Queensland fans have once again shown Spiderbait the love, with both Brisbane and Cairns shows selling out this week.

Here’s the story from The Meanies Wally Kempton “Spiderbait, what can I say. The Meanies gave them a lot of their very early support slots, like their first or second gig ever type scenario. As a venue booker I personally put them on at The Tote a heap of times. And how do the repay us? They steal our lighting girl (Fiona Duncan was a great LD for The Meanies but she went on to manage Spiderbait with great success and was way too busy for the likes of us) and they easily surpassed The Meanies as Au Go Go’s biggest band, left us in their dust the bastards!
 
“On a more serious note, I’ve witnessed so many Spiderbait milestones and felt extremely proud each time, from their Tell ‘Em It’s Healthy gigs with Guttersnipes and The Throwaways selling out every time, getting to filling the GB two nights in a row, then to filling the Prince, then to having a JJJ Hottest 100 #1, then to being major draw cards at major festivals - the list goes on & on. And now their biggest selling album is getting the reissue and birthday treatment and The Meanies are a part of the proceedings - couldn’t be happier and prouder, we’re chuffed I tells ya, chuffed!”
 
After completely sold out tours in 2014 and early 2016, this year Spiderbait are throwing it back to 1996, playing their third and most celebrated album, the seminal ‘Ivy and the Big Apples’, in its entirety. Fans can expect all 16 tracks from start to finish including some songs that have never been played live before. Plus, they’ll be throwing in a few other favourites as well!
