7 May 2023, 1pm – 6pm
High Voltage, the free homegrown community celebration of music and the spirit of WA rock legend Bon Scott, is set to be the ultimate Sunday afternoon out in the streets of Fremantle.
DIESEL, Natalie Gillespie, Body Type, Eddie Perfect, Katy Steele and Dan Sultan are just some of the names in the diverse line-up of more than 50 performances and events from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday 7 May. The High Voltage festival includes a hit parade of flatbed trucks with bands playing to audiences around a 5km street circuit as well as live performances and fun activities at three celebration zones throughout the afternoon. Each zone offers a special live experience:
• Fremantle Oval for music fans, with Katy Steele, The Southern River Band and Dan Sultan; • Wilson Park (South Beach) for chill beachside sounds from legendary local bands, food and fun activities; • Esplanade Reserve for families to rock out with activities for big and little kids.
High Voltage is Perth Festival’s 2020 smash-hit Highway to Hell repowered for 2023 as a street circuit for families and people of all ages in the heart of Freo. This super-charged one-day event will welcome thousands of music fans to the port city – WA’s live music epicentre – to enjoy a celebration of music and community around some of Freo’s iconic landmarks from Fremantle Oval and the South Terrace cappuccino strip all the way to South Beach.
High Voltage is a State-owned event presented by Tourism WA and produced by Perth Festival’s new out-of-season Special Projects arm. The event is supported by the City of Fremantle.
