Purple Disturbance are a four-piece hardcore punk powerhouse slicing through the noise with gritty riffs and razor-sharp attitude. Equal parts loose chaos and tight precision, they deliver a ferocious nod to high energy punk echoing Ramones, Black Flag, The Stooges and modern firebrands Idles and Amyl and the Sniffers.

Purple Disturbance are an unstoppable force, their driving sound and edge are capped with brutal lyrics that unravel social truths, the tragedy of delusion, and not breaking the cycle with a fierce mix of humour, dissent and emotion. 

Frontman Thom is a magnetic storm part Hutchison, part Morrison and mostly himself ashe characterises the subjects of the lyrics and takes audiences into his confidence and with him on a deeper journey into every song.  Josh drives the low end with pulsing, unpredictable basslines and Jess hits hard and it's pure punk throb as she's snuck in a groove and that's her secret and a rare element as Jed’s Gretsch grind, is weaving between the rythmn section and the sound is equal parts. It's too good and the songs are singular, distinctive and define a flow of one great track into another. The power is alluring and Thom draws on the energy and makes the room his own. 

Debut single Millie and Gus backed by an animated video from Ozzie Wrong, dropped like a sonic grenade and scored a spot in the 2025 Rip Curl surf film Dunno, along with Juice Stick also heard on Triple J Unearthed High airwaves and followed by Queen Bee. Criticise, Penalise, Attack and Slam came next, remnant of early Radio Birdman, sprinkled with shades of Idles and carrying a message for the times.

Purple Disturbance have shared stages with Grinspoon, Jebediah, The Screaming Jets, Dune Rats, Private Function, Guttermouth, The Beddy Rays, British India and internationals are on the way. Writing and recording and pure modern punk fire in between.
