TNSW share new single, announce new album and tour
Today These New South Whales announce their new album I Just Do What God Tells Me To Do, out on Nov 8 and share new single ‘In The Light Of Day’. Here, These New South Whales step inside the ring to debut a heartfelt and fresh punk sound.
Of the release, Jamie Timony AKA 'The Workhorse' says, “When we were approaching these new recordings all we knew is that they were going to be different from our first album. We’re interested in growth. ‘In The Light of Day’ is easily the sunniest song we have ever written. It’s punk but it’s not punk. We just did what God told us to do.”
Taking a moment to clear his throat, The Workhorse elaborates on the video clip, inspired by a visit from his boxing trainer, who “came to see us play on Easter Sunday this year and told us that we reminded him of INXS just before they blew up. We were chuffed with that, so we made him a free ad for his gym.”
'In The Light Of Day' follows 'Nerve 2 Reverse' which landed spot rotation on triple j and FBi Radio. These New South Whales' 2017 debut album You Work For Us kicked the door open for group, released in tandem with Season Two of their TV series on Comedy Central Australia.
Earning them FBi Radio's 'Album of the Week' the band have since taken to festivals across the globe including Live at Leeds, The Great Escape, Hit The North and Secret Garden. Garnering notable praise from NME, Rolling Stone and more for their assertive sound and thoughtful lyricism, along the way.
Now marks an exciting new period for the band, with Season 3 of their mockumentary in the works, plus their BIGSOUND showcase in the bag. To celebrate, These New South Whales will be hitting the road on the I Just Do What God Tells Me To Do Tour across Australia this November with RAAVE TAPES and ARSE on support.
